The recent release of “Pink Lemonade Diary,” my new teen/young adult novella of 23,000 words, along with the success of my first published work, a short story called “The Christmas Spirit of Starlight Cove,” has fueled my excitement as an author and gotten my creative juices flowing.  The result is a long list of future projects that promise to keep me busy for quite some time.  I’d like to take the opportunity in this week’s blog to thank my publisher, Annie Acorn Publishing, and give my readers a sneak peek at what they have to look forward to!

Currently, I’m working on a new Christmas short story for the 2012 Annie Acorn Christmas Anthology.  I enjoy using seasonal inspiration to develop multi-generational story lines.  When brainstorming for possible plots, I found that my original idea for this year’s anthology had mushroomed into a full-blown work in progress, a compelling story full of personal drama of between 25,000 to 50,000 words.  I’m excited about completing both of these projects in the new few months.

“Pink Lemonade Diary” is the first in a series called “Pink Lemonade Memories.” There are at least two more books planned for the series that will follow my 13-year-old protagonist, Vicki Gray, on future adventures.  Inspired by memories and influences from my own childhood, the series will bring yet another enjoyable choice to the YA literature market.

Finally, in the near future, I plan to dabble in the world of mystery writing.  I have ideas for works which will stretch my abilities as a writer, creating compelling characters and interesting plot lines woven around my love of all things vintage and my ever-present generational themes, with the added elements of suspense and intrigue.

I’m really looking forward to the future and my numerous WIPs! Happy Writing and Happy Reading!
