Vacation Inspiration

Pink Lemonade Diary (Pink Lemonade Memories) by Juliette Hill

Also available on NOOK!

This weekend, my husband and I began our week-long vacation.  We always love going to Florida.  It’s one of our special places, that is practically any resort town on the Atlantic coast.  Vacations always inspire my imagination and the writer within me!  This year is no different.

As we began our trek along I-95 south, the creative juices started flowing.  I’m not sure what it is about getting out of everyday surroundings and into the vastness of what lies beyond the familiarity of home that sets me free.

Entering North Carolina, the idea just hit me.  What idea you ask?  The vision for my new amateur sleuth mystery series, about a detective’s widow and interior designer/vintage treasure seeker keeping herself busy by volunteering with the local cold case unit.  Between design assignments and vintage “hunts” she embarks on the trail of unsolved murder clues to find closure to the case and hopefully justice.

I’m very excited to embark upon this new mystery series, adding it to the growing list of works in progress.  Look for the first in the series to come out Winter 2012/Spring 2013.  Meanwhile, the second of my “Pink Lemonade Memories” series is in the works, along with  a Christmas novella full of heart-wrenching emotional struggles that test the true meaning of  Christmas and the Christmas spirit.

Additionally, look for my newest Christmas short story in the upcoming Annie Acorn Christmas Anthology.  You won’t want to miss this year’s collection of holiday stories!

I wish all of you a safe, enjoyable and fantastic vacation whenever that takes place.  Happy Memorial Day and thanks to all our brave and wonderful service men  and women all over the world!

Travel indeed makes you create wonderful things especially writing. Different scenes can give you different ideas to work out a beautiful suspense writing.
